Support Your Symphony Orchestra

We believe that music is for everyone. By joining with us to present outstanding orchestral experiences in the Yampa Valley, you champion access to the arts, help our community stay healthy and vibrant, and become part of an organization that’s building community.

Your support helps us produce innovative performances, mentor students of all ages, and connect the community through the world’s universal language that is music.

The arts are an economic engine – for every $1 invested in a nonprofit arts organization, $30 is generated… in the Yampa Valley!

Buy-A-Bed Campaign

Gifts to the SSO’s Buy-A-Bed Campaign are an invaluable part of our mission to provide outstanding, accessible, and diverse orchestral experiences to the Yampa Valley!

As housing becomes more and more challenging in our mountain community, won’t you help us house our special guests?

  • Cover the cost of a cleaning fee: $125
  • One musician, one night stay: $250
  • One musician, one weekend stay: $500
  • Cover housing for nine musicians at a private residence: $1800
  • Cover costs for many grateful musicians: $5,000
  • Donate a vacant room in your home/hotel/condo: Priceless!

Host a Symphony Musician

The SSO relies on the generosity of housing donations (both corporate and homestay) to host our orchestra members. If you have an extra room or a condo that is availble and would like to host one or more of our performers, please click the button below to complete the form.

**For health and safety reasons, all performers requiring lodging are required to follow strict health and safety protocols. More information about our policy is available, if requested.** Thank you! We couldn’t produce our concerts without you.

Colorado Gives Day

It’s more than just a day. It’s something to feel good about.

Colorado Gives Day unites all Coloradans in a common goal to strengthen the state’s nonprofits by giving to their favorite charities online. This year, give to the organization that provides world-class music programming and vital music education, including as the funder of the Steamboat Springs High School Orchestra. Every donation helps our community be healthier and more vibrant!

Kathy Craig Memorial Fund

This fund is in honor of Kathy Craig, a longtime patron and supporter of the SSO and youth music education programming.

SSO Endowment

Created in 2022, the SSO Endowment was made possible by Sara Craig-Scheckman, in honor of Craig-Scheckman’s mother, Kathleen Willis Craig, who was a dedicated supporter of the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra, performing arts in the community and local education.

“A gift and donation of this magnitude to our organization is one that creates profound, long-term positive impacts,” said Jennifer Grathwohl, executive director of the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra, in a statement. “With this generosity, we will be establishing our first endowment, securing a sustainable future for the Steamboat Symphony Orchestra, allowing us to continue our impactful work with students and musicians of all ages, as well as share our world-class and innovative programming with the Yampa Valley.”
