Audition

The Steamboat Symphony Orchestra announces auditions for
the following openings in the 2022-23 season:

Submission Deadline: July 7, 2023
Audition Date: July 10, 2023
Audition Time: 6:30 – 8:30 (time to be assigned)
Audition Location: Steamboat Mountain School, Emerald Campus, Music Annex

Audition Requirements

  • Please be prepared to play two (2) standard orchestra excerpts.
  • Music does not need to be memorized.
  • All candidates are expected to provide their own music. Accompanist not provided.
  • Please bring a one-page resume or curriculum vitae (CV).
  • Auditionees must be able to legally work in the United States.

Benefits and Compensation

  • Substitute members receive a rate of $80 per service.
  • Stipend provided of $150 for those traveling from outside of the Yampa Valley area.
  • Lodging provided.
  • Discount concert tickets available.

The Steamboat Symphony Orchestra performs three concert sets a season:

  • September 22 and 23, 2023
  • December 1 and 2, 2023
  • April 12 and 13, 2024

Additional engagements may arise throughout the season.
